Bloemfontein School of Autism supports children with compassion, care─── 09:00 Wed, 28 May 2025

The Bloemfontein School of Autism is the only one of its kind in the Free State.
Regional Development Officer for Autism SA, Salina Jele, joins Yolanda Maartens in the OFM Family Focus to speak about what it is they do.
Jele discusses their support groups for parents, the needs of the school, and the importance of understanding children living with Autism.
The vision of the Bloemfontein School of autism is to provide true inclusion by supporting learners living with Autism Spectrum Disorder and by raising awareness in the community at large. They ensure their learners develop essential life skills that are needed to function independently, answering today's challenges for the future.
A part of the school’s mission is to provide accountable, constructive, goal-directed, and motivated young adults through effective leadership and a harmonious and stimulating education environment, all brought together by a team of dedicated and professional staff.
They aim to bring inclusivity in the school, but also in spaces outside of the school, by teaching the community how to support persons living with autism.
Regional Development Officer for Autism SA, Salina Jele, shares the importance of support for the autism community, and beyond support, the power of inclusion and recognising their abilities.
