Potchefstroom - The ANC has announced a new temporary mayor for the highly contested Tlokwe municipality in Potchefstroom.
This after the party won six by-elections on Wednesday. The win comes just over a year since its hold of Tlokwe was first shaken, when former mayor Maphetle Maphetle was voted out by a group of fellow ANC councillors over allegations of corruption, and replaced by Democratic Alliance councillor, Annette Combrink.
Dane Beisheim attended this morning's council meeting where the announcement was made.
