Vereeniging - Ryno Strydom, the ER24 paramedic who was stabbed eight times yesterday is recovering well at home.
ER24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak says Strydom was discharged from hospital last night.
While off duty, Strydom was attacked outside Vereeniging by three men when he tried to help a man lying in the road thinking he had been hit by a car. Two other suspects are said to have appeared and overpowered him. He was stabbed in the throat, chest, back and legs, but managed to drive about 12 kilometres to his ER24 base for help.
