Bloemfontein - Eskom has now instituted its stage three load shedding schedule, which requires up to 4000Mwatts to be shed.
Spokesperson Andrew Etzinger says the major cause is the non-stop rain that has been falling in Mpumalanga.
He explains why this is having an effect on the entire country.

Spokesperson Leon Kritzinger says residents can expect load shedding from 2pm to 4pm and again from 10pm tonight until 2am tomorrow morning.
Sol Plaatje spokesperson Sello Matsie earlier gave notice that the whole of Kimberley would be without power between 10am and 12.30pm.
This was also expected to affect water supply in the higher lying suburbs.
