Bloemfontein - One of five men who were apprehended in Bloemfontein last week for trying to sell an illegal elephant tusk was granted bail this morning.

The men, including two Zimbabwean nationals, were arrested during an undercover operation by the Hawks.

They allegedly wanted R28 000 for the 5.5kg ivory, which is valued at R168 000. Mulondeni Kambwa was granted R5 000 bail, while the applications for Takalani Makwevho, Maquvha Maquvha, John Mashala and Makwavani Tladi will resume on July 15.

They face charges of dealing and possession of illegal elephant tusk.
