Kovsie students acquitted | News Article

Bloemfontein - Two Kovsie students, accused of assaulting and attempting the drive over a fellow student, have been acquitted of all the charges against them in the Bloemfontein Regional Court today.

Cobus Muller was found not guilty of attempted murder, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, reckless and negligent driving and crimen injuria, while Charl Blom was acquitted on a charge of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Magistrate Rasheed Matthews ruled that the complainant, Damane Gwebu, was an unreliable witness who failed to provide corroborating evidence to support his testimony.
