Bloemfontein - The University of the Free State and its Vice-Rector, Driekie Hay-Swemmer have agreed to part ways amicably with effect from October 31 2014.
University spokesperson Lacea Loader says in a statement that after a career that contributed significantly to the UFS's Academic Project and her substantive contributions in furthering the interests of the project, as executive manager, Hay-Semmer will be furthering her career outside of the University of the Free State.
Loader also announced that Hay-Swemmer's husband, the university's Registrar, will leave their employ at the end of this month.
Derek Swemmer will only perform selected important duties during November, while the many activities in which he has been involved are finalised or handed on to personnel who will pursue these responsibilities.
