Sasolburg police warn of hijacking syndicate─── 07:28 Sat, 09 May 2015
Sasolburg - Zamdela police have warned motorists using R59 and R82 roads about a spate of hijackings in the area.
Free State police spokesperson, Sellwane Mapamela, says the modus operandi involves an unmarked white vehicle with a blue light which approaches vehicles from behind and flashes them. Once the unsuspecting motorists have pulled over, they are hijacked.
Mapamela says the most common routes are the R59 between Sasolburg and Vereeniging, the R82 between Koppies and Vereeniging, and the exits to the R57 from Sasolburg and the R59 at Vaalpark.
