Bloemfontein - The Castle Bridge School is the first in the city to participate in the 'Adopt a Cop' programme through which police officers are assigned to a specific school to ensure learners are protected and educated on crime prevention.

Speaking at the presentation at the school yesterday, Deputy Provincial Commissioner Crime Detection, Tholie Afonso explained detectives also have a role to play in the safe guiding of communities as well as educating the school children about crime and drugs.

Learners from Grades 8 – 12 were given talks on the dangers of drug abuse and delving in criminal activities. The National Crime Stop team was also present to speak to the learners at the school.
