Potchefstroom - Tlokwe Executive Mayor, Kgotso Khumalo, will soon meet with residents of Kanana, affected by the dolomite subsidence in the area, to keep them updated and take note of concerns that they may have regarding a resettlement process.

Council spokesperson, Willie Maphosa, says stands have been identified for the ten families currently residing in the dolomite-rich area, which poses the threat of forming sinkholes. These stands should be ready by March.

There will also be 15 additional stands for residents at risk near the Ikageng West Reservoir site. Maphosa says plans are in place to rehabilitate the affected area.
