Two arrested in connection with Hartbeespoort Dam farm attack─── CHRISTAL-LIZE MULLER 09:25 Fri, 12 Aug 2016

Hartbeespoortdam - Police in North West have confirmed that two men were arrested yesterday in connection with the murder of a 44-year old mother on a farm at Hartbeespoortdam.
Police spokesperson, Mpeile Talane, says intelligence driven information led police to the suspects who were arrested at 08:00 in the street in Rietfontein in Hartbeespoortdam.
He says police are in the process to link the men to the brutal murder of Laurika Potgieter on Wednesday. Her body was found in the corridor in her house that she rented on a farm.
Police say she sustained stab wounds to her upper body and chest. Meanwhile, AfriForum's Ian Cameron says the deceased's shocked three daughters, of whom two were at school during the incident, are now orphaned.
Cameron visited the gruesome scene yesterday and spoke to Potgieter’s eldest 20-year-old daughter who are trying to be strong for her two sisters aged five and sixteen. He says their father died two years ago after a heart attack. "It is sad and unfortunate that they also lost their mothe," he added.
Cameron says it is believed that Potgieter knew the suspects. Talane says the suspects will appear in court as soon as the investigation reveals that they are linked to the murder.
