Man to appear after attempted armed robbery at Brits mall─── 10:32 Thu, 02 Mar 2017
Brits - A 36-year-old man will appear in the Brits Magistrate's Court today in connection with an armed robbery at a shopping complex in Mooinooi.
North West police spokesperson, Pelonomi Makau, says the man and three accomplices attempted to rob a cash-in-transit security vehicle yesterday.
At the time of the incident, security officials were allegedly collecting money from a store at the shopping complex. The suspects allegedly fired a shot at the security officials, hitting one in the hand. Three suspects fled the scene in a vehicle. The fourth suspect was arrested by police.
Makau says the arrested suspect was found in possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition. No cash was taken during the incident.
