Parys farm murders case continues after state loses bid to have accused's bail revoked─── DANE BEISHEIM 05:43 Fri, 26 May 2017
Parys - Advocate Hans de Bruin for the defence on Thursday called a witness’s version of events, when two alleged farm attackers were killed in Parys last year, into question.
Fanie Oosthuizen continued his testimony under cross examination in the High Court matter against Boeta van der Westhuizen, his son Loedie, Miela Janse van Vuuren, Anton Loggenberg and his son Cor, as well as Henk Prinsloo. They are charged with murdering Samuel Tjixa en Simon Jubeba in January 2016. This, after an application to have one of the accused, Anton Loggensberg's bail revoked was denied in the Parys Magistrate's Court. The court found that claims of him threatening to kill state witnesses was mere hearsay.
Oosthuizen testified among other things to seeing the elder Van der Westhuizen repeatedly assaulting one of the victims with the butt of a revolver.
OFM News’ Dane Beisheim reports that De Bruin inquired as to why there were no abrasions and lacerations to the victim’s face when the autopsy was conducted.
