Eight people in Potchefstroom were left injured following a collision between a taxi and light motor vehicle at the Govan Mbeki and Nelson Mandela Drive yesterday.
ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring, says when paramedics arrived on the scene they found the taxi lying on its side, on the side of the road. He says several passengers who had been travelling inside the taxi had already climbed out of the vehicle, while eight sustained minor to moderate injuries.
Meiring says the patients were treated and transported to hospitals for further medical care. The cause of the accident is still unknown.
In two other incidents yesterday, one man was killed and five others injured this afternoon when a light motor vehicle rolled several times off the R563 in Hekpoort, west of Johannesburg.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find the light motor vehicle lying on its side of the side of the road. The bodies of six men were found lying all around the vehicle. And, a man, believed to be in his 30s, was left seriously injured last night when he was knocked over by a bakkie on the Ravel Road in Vanderbijlpark.
