One of the men involved in a mall robbery at a jewellery store in Pretoria on Thursday was arrested while seeking medical attention at the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in Johannesburg.
Chaos rocked Grove Mall on Thursday after robbers targeted Francois Jewellers and the owner shot at about five to seven suspects.
Several glass display cases in the jewellery shop were broken and shattered glass was strewn across the store, which spilled out of the entrance.
An undisclosed amount of jewellery was taken, said police.
Police spokesperson Daniel Mavimbela said the 29-year-old man was arrested later on Thursday evening following a tip-off received through the local police intelligence network.
He was treated for gunshot wounds to his lower and upper body.
He was charged with robbery with aggravating circumstances.
He is expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court soon.
