Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide after a seventeen-year-old girl, Nika Hancke, from Sentraal High School in Bloemfontein, died in the Pelonomi Hospital yesterday.
This follows after the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle in Nelson Mandela Drive in Bloemfontein, late last Saturday.
According to information OFM News has received, four girls and one young man were in the car at the time of the accident.
Police spokesperson, Thandi Mbambo, says two of Hancke’s friends have been released from hospital.
Meanwhile, Headmaster of Sentraal, Anton Janse van Rensburg, says school management will be meeting on Monday to discuss memorial arrangements for Hancke.
