Elderly couple found murdered on Free State farm─── 15:53 Tue, 26 Jun 2018
An elderly couple was found murdered on their farm at Vanstadensrus in the Free State today.
The 78-year-old farmer and his 68-year-old wife were found by their domestic worker in their bedroom with gunshot wounds. The domestic worker called the police straight away.
The police spokesperson, Mosili Ntsika, told OFM News that they were both tied to chairs and there was no sign of forced entry. An extra safety door inside the house was, however, allegedly forced open. Firearms, cellphones and a light motor vehicle belonging to the deceased couple are missing.
Their silver Chevrolet Spark with registration number FWZ 736 FS was probably used by the suspects to leave the farm. No arrests have been made as yet. Anyone with information should please contact Detective Constable Mosala Mositoane of Vanstadensrus Police Station at 051-584-1102.
