A stir has already been created surrounding the newly elected Student Representative Council (SRC) leader from University of the Free State (UFS), that he allegedly does not support white people and their history.
Freedom Front Plus youth leader, Tammy Wessels, told OFM News that right after the SRC leader Sonwabile Dwaba was elected, he told students that the statue of MT Steyn needs to fall, and that white students and their history on campus is not welcome - therefore students should break down the statue.
OFM News spoke to Dwaba, who admits to saying the MT Steyn statue should fall but says he never said white people do not belong on campus. Dwaba says the statue reminds students of the old history and it’s not part of the university's values.
