A plea for help to address the food crisis at the Bloemfontein Zoo is making waves on social media platforms.
OFM News spoke to one of the founder members of the former Friends of the Zoo organisation, Kobus van Wyk, who said a shortage of food for the animals at the zoo has led to a crisis. He asked concerned residents to donate all sorts of food to keep animals fed.
In the meantime, spokesperson of the Mangaung Metro Municipality, Qondile Khedama, says there is enough food for the animals. He told OFM News that there is, however, a problem with an official who is not cooperating. This person will be facing a hearing. Khedama says if anyone wants to donate any animal food, they are welcome to do so.
