Local businesses donate food to #BloemfonteinZoo─── MOLEBOGENG MALEBO 14:13 Wed, 14 Nov 2018

Spec-savers and Execuspecs in Bloemfontein teamed up to make a donation of 2.2 tonnes of hay for the Bloemfontein Zoo’s animals on Wednesday, 14 November.
This comes after pleas were made on social media for locals to donate any food they can, following an alleged food crisis which is believed to be affecting the well-being of the zoo’s animals.
Liani Myburgh from Execuspecs told OFM News they were prompted by the news about the crisis to come up with a way to do their bit for the animals.
“As brands, it is so important for us not to only concentrate on us, we should also focus on the future. We need to think about our children and the kind of legacy we would like to leave behind. Just donating money does not guarantee that it gets used for the intended purpose,” Myburg said.
OFM News previously reported that the Mangaung Metro Municipality spokesperson, Qondile Khedama, said the animals have enough food despite facing a problem with a senior official who is not cooperating.
