Former Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Secretary-General, Lopang Rothman, confirmed to OFM News that the national appeals committee, led by Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, informed them that the conference is postponed until further notice. Rothman says they have, on several occasions, tried to engage the provincial task team to halt the process of registration and verification of wards and branches citing irregularities, but their call fell on deaf ears. On Wednesday, scores from ANC Branches in the province took their protests to the ANC National Headquarters, Luthuli house, in Johannesburg. Rothman says they are pleased that the acting ANC National Spokesperson, Dakota Legeote, and Dlamini-Zuma adhered to their call to intervene in the matter.

 “And I can confirm, for example, you have branches in Matlosana, your ward 6 and 7, where secretaries are not part of the process and, in terms of the ANC protocols, those are the people that are mandated to verify or to represent on any other level and now this has not happened in that way,” says Rothman.

 He says they have put out a dispute through the process of the ANC and they are not concerned about those amongst the party who accuse them of putting the party into disrepute.

Rothman says the PTT is filled with populists who try hard to divert from following the rules and regulations of the party.

He says the people have been given the mandate to rebuild and reunite the ANC, but instead they are doing the opposite by looking after their own selfish interests.

The four ANC regions in the province, that include the Dr Ruth Segomosti Mompati region and Dr Kenneth Kaunda region, have been at loggerheads with the PTT following the disbandment of the Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) led by former premier Supra Mahumapelo.
