The Kgalagadi District Municipality at Kuruman in the Northern Cape will from today officially be known as the Taolo John Gaitsewe district municipality. Municipal spokesperson Lesego Pule, says the council resolved to rename the municipality to honour this 1950's SACP/ANC activist for his contribution towards freedom. Provincial and Local Government Minister Sicelo Shiceka is set to deliver the keynote address at the unveiling ceremony. ANC stalwart Ben Turok will also present a memorial lecture on Gaitsewe.
