Klerksdorp - Northwest Education MEC Raymond Elishai released the matric results today in the city of Matlosana. MEC Elishai made the announcement that the official pass rate for 2011 stood at 77,8% - the highest that it has ever been. He attributed this to a series of intervention strategies that he says has started bearing fruit. Although there is still more to be done according to the MEC, he remarked that in congratulating his counterparts from the first ranked Western Cape and 2nd ranked Gauteng he warned them to “watch this space”. The top 3 three schools with a 100% pass rate were Lichteburgh High, with 192 pupils, followed by Hoërskool Britz with 182 learners and Klerksdorp High School.
Johan Havenga and Quartus Kok from Lichtenburg High School.
