Potchefstroom - The North-West University student who tragically died in a motorcycle accident on campus on Monday has been identified as André van Zyl. Van Zyl, a 20 year old 3rd year engineering student known to his friends as "Baber", was originally from Windhoek in Namibia. His parents arrived in the country this morning, and have been escorted to the Potchefstroom campus. Kiewiet Scheppel, spokesperson for the University, said today that Van Zyl presumably lost control of his motorcycle, but that police have opened a culpable homicide docket investigating the exact circumstances leading up to his death.
