Potchefstroom - North West police are searching for five suspects who killed a farmer on his farm, Frischgewaagd, in the Buffelshoek area near Potchefstroom early this morning. 49-year-old David Hall and his 41-year-old wife Bernadette were milking cows in their dairy, about 70m from their house, at around 6 this morning, when they were attacked by five armed suspects. Police spokesperson Thulani Ngubane says David was shot in the head and died at the scene. His wife was tied up and assaulted, before the suspects fled with the couple's car.
Christa Snyman, who lives on a neighbouring farm, says she received a call from Bernadette this morning, saying they were being attacked. Snyman phoned police and emergency services. David leaves behind his wife and two sons. The sons were not home during the attack.
