Mahikeng - Premier of the North West Province, Supra Mahumapelo, is set to visit Regorogile Combined School in the GaMogopa village, Ventersdorp, on Friday 13 January.

The visit forms part of the provincial government’s 2017 back to school campaign.

Regorogile Combined School is one of the public schools in the North West Province that performed poorly in the 2016 matric examination, where only three out of the 17 learners that wrote matric examinations, passed.

Of these three learners, two passed for Bachelor studies and one learner passed for Diploma studies.

The North West Provincial government says campaign is aimed at ensuring that teaching takes place on the first day of school re-opening, and to mobilise support from education stakeholders in order for learners in schools such as Regorogile Combined to excel in their academic studies.

“We remain steadfast in our commitment to ensure that every learner in our provincial education system receives the best possible education, and want to see all schools and educators being ready to start learning from day one”, says Mahumapelo.

Also taking part in this province-wide campaign is the Speaker of the North West Provincial Legislature, Members of Executive Council, Mayors, Councilors, Members of Parliament and Traditional Leadership amongst others.
