Vonic Johnson is from Heidedal, Bloemfontein and is currently in Gr 7. She was diagnosed with cancer for the first time when she was only 3 months old. She lost her one eye to cancer and in 2019 almost lost a leg. 

Nothing gets her down and even when she is in hospital, the only thing she wants to do - is go back to school and not miss any classes. During treatment she always had a smile on her face and helped the younger kids getting treatment.

Today she is looking forward to going to high school and inspiring others with her story. When she grows up she wants to be a pediatric oncologist. Her mom Lavona explains that having a child with cancer is a very long journey. The two of them have a very special bond having spent months and months in hospital together.
