Allergy sufferers take note...


This week’s Pollen Report from the University of Cape Town Lung Institute shows that tree pollen countsare declining across the country but remain moderate to high so it is stilllikely to be cause symptoms in those highly sensitized. 

In Bloemfontein, tree pollen levels are moderate to high as pine, yellowwood, cypress, and poplar, among others, continue to flower. Grass and weed levels remain low. Mould levels are also low, except for small spikes for the allergenic fungal spore Cladosporium.

In Kimberley, tree pollen levels remain low with types detected including Birch, Buddleia, cypress, chestnut, gum, olive, and pecan. Weed levels also remain low with Pa-rie-ta-ria and Ranunculus detected. Grass and mould levels remain low.
