Adelheid Von Maltitz completed her Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts in 2005, her Masters in Fine Arts in 2009, and is currently studying towards her Ph.D. in Fine Arts at the University of the Free State.
She is a lecturer in drawing and sculpture at her alma mater. Her research is concerned with the transformative potential of dynamic threshold places such as roadside shrines in South Africa.
Her latest exhibition, 'Site, Materiality, and Ritual', constructively engages with death and loss. It is currently exhibiting at the Oliewenhuis Art Museum. The museum is open weekdays from 09:00-15:00.
