'Modimolle Monster' trial postponed─── 11:44 Mon, 04 Feb 2013

Pretoria - The trial of the man dubbed the 'Modimolle Monster' has been postponed to April in the North Gauteng High Court. Johan Kotze last year admitted to torturing and mutilating his estranged wife Ina Bonnette at her home in January 2012. He is also accused of hiring his three co-accused to gang-rape her. He allegedly shot and killed Bonnette's son Konrad. The trial was postponed because Kotze's advocate, Bernard Bandjies, is currently representing some of the defendants in the Boeremag trial. Kotze will be sent back to a psychiatric hospital in Bloemfontein, where he has spent the past two months. He will be kept there until the trial resumes while his three co-accused, Pieta Mohlane, Frans Mphaka and Andries Sithole, will remain in custody.
