Surfer teaches community about marine plastic pollution─── 15:27 Mon, 12 Nov 2018
Professional big wave surfer, Frank Solomon, has embarked on a drive to educate communities about marine plastic pollution.
On Monday afternoon, the surfer is expected to participate in a beach clean-up drive at Jeffrey's Bay.
According to recent studies by the World Wildlife Fund, South Africa is out of 20 countries the 11th worst in the world when it comes to releasing plastic waste into the sea.
Solomon says he hopes the drive, which kick-started last week in KwaZulu-Natal will bring awareness around the impact of plastic pollution on wildlife.
