Fire fighters are still dousing flames at China Mall in Crown Mines, just outside central Johannesburg. ER24 spokesperson, Vanessa Jackson, said the fire had, however, been contained to one of the buildings. She said fire fighters had brought in cranes and would "attack the fire from the top." The fire, which started at around 8 o'clock this morning, has seen part of the M1 freeway from the Booysens area covered in heavy grey smoke. No one was injured in the blaze as people from the neighbouring buildings had been evacuated. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
