Agri podcast: Agri SA appeals for Covid-19 vigilance─── 11:24 Thu, 31 Dec 2020
Agri SA has appealed to the broader public and especially farmers, farm workers and the broader agricultural sector to be vigilant at all times and to take every precaution possible to avoid contracting and spreading the coronavirus (Covid-19).
This is according to Executive Director of Agri SA, Christo van der Rheede. He further appealed to those who continue to dismiss the seriousness of the pandemic and spreading false news about so-called conspiracy theories or so-called healing effects of quick fix animal ‘vaccines’ to refrain from it. Van der Rhede says this is not only embarrassing for the sector but also dangerous, adding it should be left to the world’s leading virology scientists to determine the best possible, safe and most effective treatment to fight the COVID-19 19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, the African Farmers Association of South Africa has pledged its full support to President Cyril Ramaphosa, the cabinet and the National Command Coronavirus Command Council. AFASA has also called upon all farmers; members of AFASA and non-members alike to heed this call to observe all regulations, keep a safe distance, wear your masks, wash your hands, and sanitize. The association also made an appeal that all employees should be provided with the necessary Personal Protective Equipment, information, and knowledge. In addition to these preventative measures, employers in the agricultural sector should continue to provide psycho-social support to their employees
