#BreakingNews: Three new #AsbestosGate suspects granted bail─── LUCKY NKUYANE 09:50 Fri, 19 Feb 2021
The three additional suspects nabbed by the Hawks on Thursday for their alleged involvement in the failed asbestos project worth R255 million have been granted bail.
These three include Chief Financial Officer: FS Human Settlements, Nozipho Molikoe (40); Acting Chief Director of the Project Management Unit: FS Human Settlements, Thabiso Makepe (42), and the Deputy Director-General: Corporate Administration in the Free State Premier’s office, Albert Venter (64). They applied for bail in the Bloemfontein Magistrate's Court in the Free State and now join the ANC Secretary-General (SG) Ace Magashule, former Mangaung Metro Municipality Mayor, Olly Mlamleli and others. The charges range from fraud and corruption relating to the failed project where millions of rands were allegedly looted.
The state did not oppose the trio's bail applications and their bail amounts have been set at R50 000 for all suspects.
