Residents of Mantsopa are being advised to urgently visit their municipal offices to verify their electricity meter numbers, to avoid difficulties in future when they buy electricity.
According to a statement issued by the Mantsopa Local Municipality (MLM), which includes Labybrand, Centlec has revealed that there are approximately 3000 meter numbers that are unaccounted for in Mantsopa.
The municipality is expected to take over the constitutional obligation of providing electricity services to the community, from Centlec.
According to a statement, the municipality is prepared for the envisaged migration as the electricity division is about to fill the additional positions and procure the necessary fleet and equipment.
Residents of Mantsopa have been asked to take their latest electricity token carbon copy, or meter card, to the municipal offices for verification.
