Bloemfontein. - The Baby Boks went down 17-18 to Wales in their semi-final match of the Junior World Championship France last night, parting with their World Championship status in the last minute of regular play.
The lead the scrappy match 7-6 at the break, but could never dominate Wales. Poor kicking by Handre Pollard, effectively lost the Baby Boks the match, but poor decisions on attack also saw the South Africans look completely out of their depth.
Philip Herbst and Kwagga Smith scored tries for South Africa. In the other semi-final, England knocked out the mighty All Blacks 33-21.
It will be the first time that the final wil be an all Northern hemisphere affair, when Wales play England on Sunday.
