Clayton Blommetjies - Pro14

The Toyota Cheetahs named their side to face Edinburgh on Friday evening in the Guinness Pro14.

The side sees the return of Clayton Blommetjies at fullback for his first game since round two of the competition.

Fred Zeilinga will start at flyhalf for the match with the leading scorer, Ernst Stapelberg, out injured.

A further boost for the side sees William Small-Smith returns from a niggle which kept him out of the Connacht game in Galway on 4 November.

Upfront the for Scarlets and Ospreys man, Rynier Bernardo, slots in on the side of the scrum at flank, due to the team somewhat of a crises in the loose-forward department.

This allows for the super exciting Daniel Maartens to come onto the bench, in what will be is debut when he takes to the park.

The loan player from Western Province, Craig Barry, also cracked the nod ahead of AJ Coertzen, and regardless of where he plays on the bench he is sure to provide fireworks.

While both sides are not at full strength, the Cheetahs coach Rory Duncan told OFM Sport that he expect a good competition.

“Yes, but look it’s nice to be in that position where get to make a selection as opposed to being forced to select a player because you have no other option.

“We’ve seen this season where we’ve gone through a bit of a cycle where we were bit limited in the flyhalf department and then also one or two other positions.

“Among the loose-forwards we have a couple of injuries now, but I suppose that its part of the game.

“At this moment in time to have the selection that we do at outside-back, we’re very fortunate.”

Tomorrow evening’s match at the Toyota Stadium kicks off at 19:30.
