Grace ready to get back into the swing of things─── MORGAN PIEK 08:10 Fri, 30 May 2025

South Africa’s LIV Golf team, the Stingers, have received a welcome boost ahead of the upcoming tournament in Virginia.
The former Nedbank Golf Challenge winner Branden Grace is fit and ready to return to action.
Grace was forced to withdraw from the LIV event in Korea due to a flare-up in his wrist, but fortunately, no surgery was required.
He will rejoin teammates Louis Oosthuizen, Dean Burmester, and Charl Schwartzel for next week’s event.
The former South African Open champion said the break did him a world of good, and he’s now eager to get back on the course – especially after spending some unexpected time on the farm.
“I’m feeling a lot better. It was one of the longer breaks I’ve had in my career without picking up a golf club – which was strange, but actually quite refreshing.
“I kept busy on the farm, cutting grass and doing all the things I usually leave to someone else. I’ve gained a whole new respect for farm work – it’s definitely not as easy as it looks!”
Grace added that avoiding surgery was a huge relief, but his focus is now firmly on getting back into form.

“Luckily, I didn’t need an operation, which was a big relief. I was on a strong course of steroids for a week, took another week off, and then started easing back into things.
“I only picked up a club again just before Korea, and then managed to play a full round there for the first time since the injury. I was pain-free, which was massive. Now it’s all about building things up again and finding my rhythm.”
The tournament will take place from 6 to 8 June at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club, just outside Washington, DC.
