The Springboks have turned their attention to the final two Tests of the Rugby Championship after their emphatic 43-10 win over the All Blacks in Wellington at the weekend.

The Boks’ victory at the Cake Tin not only restored them to the number one spot in the world rankings but also kept their title defence on track. Combined with Australia’s narrow 28-26 defeat to Argentina in Sydney, the result lifted the Boks to second on the log, leaving them well-placed to challenge for the Championship crown.

Two demanding clashes now await the back-to-back world champions – first against Argentina in Durban and then in London to wrap up their campaign. The win over the All Blacks, South Africa’s biggest-ever against their arch-rivals, has given them renewed confidence heading into these decisive fixtures.

For now, the squad is heading home to spend a few days with loved ones before regrouping for the Pumas.

Winger Cheslin Kolbe stressed the importance of rest and balance ahead of the next challenge.

“We’re going home and we’ll get a day or two off, which is great for family time. We’re excited for that,” Kolbe said.

“Once we’re back, we’ll reset and make sure the coaches’ plans for the next two games are clear. Argentina have been playing really well in this Championship, and it’s always physical against them. We need to stay focused, improve where we can, and be clinical. Test rugby is about discipline, accuracy, and playing in the right areas.”

The two-time World Cup winner added that the Boks won’t allow themselves to get carried away.

“We’ll take it week by week and focus on the next challenge. Argentina are in good form, so it’s going to be tough. The hopes are there, but we need to stay humble, keep working hard, and just take it training by training and game by game.”

The Boks will face Argentina next Saturday at Kings Park in Durban, with kick-off scheduled for 17:10.
