Former Acting Police Commissioner #Phahlane arrested─── 11:43 Fri, 01 Mar 2019
Former Acting Police Commissioner, Khomotso Phahlane, is expected to appear in the Johannesburg Specialised Commercial Crime’s court on Friday morning.
This is in connection with a R86 million blue lights tender.
Phahlane was arrested on Friday morning, along with the Police’s Supply chain management head, Ravichandran Pillay.
In 2018, the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) arrested former Gauteng Police Commissioner, Deliwe de Lange, in connection with the matter.
The charges stem from a 2016 tender awarded to Instrumentation Traffic Law Enforcement, which was owned by millionaire Vimpie Manthatha.
TWITTER UPDATE: Former acting police commissioner, Kgomotso Phahlane, has been granted R20 000 bail. He is one of the suspects arrested by Ipid this morning in connection with tender fraud and corruption worth an estimated R86 million.
The case has been postponed to March 29.
