NUM has no confidence in Eskom CEO, board─── 07:07 Thu, 21 Mar 2019
Eskom's biggest union the National Unioin of Mineworkers (NUM) says it has no confidence in the power utility's CEO and most of its board.
The union met President Cyril Ramaphosa on Monday to discuss the planned unbundling of the utility.
It maintains it wasn't consulted about the move.
“Jabu Mabuza doesn't qualify, he doesn't have experience including the CEO of Eskom [Phakamani Hadebe]. The CEO of Eskom has 0 knowledge of energy,”
It also says any member accused of sabotage at the power utility must face the music.
The police's crime intelligence unit is investigating possible acts of sabotage by workers at the power utility.
Meanwhile, load-shedding continues to be implemented by Eskom countrywide.
