NC man gets handed double life sentence for rape and murder─── PULANE CHOANE 16:53 Thu, 28 Mar 2019
Police in the Barkly West welcomed the double life sentence that was handed down today at the Northern Cape High Court as a 28 year old man who was found guilty of rape and murder.
This is according to police spokesperson in the province, Sergio Kock, who told OFM News that Jacob Esel received a life sentence for murder, another for rape and a further 12 and 5 years imprisonment respectively for attempted murder of a family member of the victim and violation of a corpse.
OFM News’ Pulane Choane reports that Kock said the sentences will run concurrently and follow after the accused committed these crimes last year.
