McBride accuses Nathi Nhleko of scapegoating corruption-busters─── 11:25 Sat, 13 Apr 2019
Robert McBride has told the state capture inquiry corruption-busting entities were being wiped out during his tenure.
McBride accused former Police Minister Nathi Nhleko of scapegoating corruption-busters.
"He's willing to use processes to achieve his ends," McBride testified.
McBride is accusing Nhleko of targeting himself, former Hawks head Anwa Dramat, and former Gauteng Hawks Head, Shadrack Sibiya, on spurious grounds.
The former Ipid head also criticised the media over a leaked report on the police watchdog.
McBride cited a Sunday Times article on a law firm's investigation into Ipid.
The probe, commissioned by the then-police minister, was over the extradition of Zimbabwean suspects.
Nhleko hasn't yet applied to cross-examine McBride.
The former Ipid boss will return to the stand on Monday.
