Cell C seeks interdict against strike over bonuses | News Article

Mobile phone company Cell C wants an interdict from the Labour Court against a strike by workers belonging to the Information Communication and Technology Union.

Workers are angry over the non-payment of outstanding performance bonuses.

In a brief notice to subscribers, Cell C said the employees had announced their intention to strike on Monday, but the company wanted the industrial action declared unlawful.

"Please rest assured that we will do everything in our power to ensure the safety of employees, supplies and customers," it said, adding that police had been alerted to ensure order.
