Magashule is being investigated for his alleged involvement in the formation of the African Transformation Movement party. 

The ATM was launched in 2018 and Mzwanele Manyi later joined as policy head. 

The ANC Women's League says it doesn't believe Magashule has done wrong.

ANCWL Secretary-General Meokgo Matuba asked for processes to be allowed.

"Let's not assume the SG (Magashule) is guilty," she said.

"Let's investigate, let us not rely on allegations and let comrades have an opportunity to clear their names."

A Sunday Times report linked Magashule and former president Jacob Zuma to secret meetings to help start the African Transformation Movement.

The allegations are contained in an affidavit by the general secretary of the South African Council of Messianic Churches in Christ, Vuyisile Ngqulana.

The ANC secretary-general has, on previous occasions, denied any wrongdoing.

He's also denied being part of any plan to form splinter political parties.
