A friend of South African businesswoman, Thandi Ndlovu, who recently died in a fatal car crash in Rustenburg in North West, in August has defended herself for speaking out against the alleged abuse Ndlovu went through in her marriage.

Speaking to 702, Khanyi Chaba says speaking out against the alleged abuse was Ndlovu's wish before she died.

OFM News previously reported on this when the Chancellor of the University of the Free State (UFS), Khotso Mokhele, shared how Ndlovu revealed to her friends a few days before her death that she allegedly had been physically abused by her husband for many years.

At the time of her death, Ndlovu was in the process of divorcing her husband and was travelling with her bodyguard.

Chaba says she is sad that a woman with Ndlovu’s stature with a solid and formidable background of being a member of Umkonto We Sizwe, never came out to expose the deeds against her.

Chaba says Ndlovu expressed deep regret about not publicly speaking out about her ordeal.

Meanwhile, on Friday, thousands of woman marched in Sandton to demand that the private sector join the discussion in trying to curb crimes against women.
