President Cyril Ramaphosa says the divisions facing the ANC now are nothing new and can be resolved.
Ramaphosa also called for accountability and consequence management while delivering the OR Tambo Memorial Lecture in Lephalale, Limpopo.
"The ANC of OR Tambo also faced challenges of division and disunity. At times this was also experienced in the ANC when it was banned. The ANC also had weaknesses and weak structures and went through periods of organisational decline."
Ramaphosa's three-day visit to Lephalale ends on Tuesday.
