The flight crew and 122 repatriates will be quarantined for a minimum of 14 days up to 21 days.

During this period, the movement of goods in and out of the quarantined zone will be restricted.

The public is cautioned against attempting to make any contact or visit the quarantined zone.

Once the quarantine period has ended, with the tests confirming no underlying COVID19, they will be released back into their respective families and communities.

The SA team on its way to Wuhan will only have eight hours on the ground to evacuate the South Africans wanting to return home. The eight-hour window will mean that the team will have to work quickly to ensure that everyone is on board.

Meanwhile, in South Africa, 17 people have been infected with the virus.
