Reserve Bank cuts repo rate by full percentage point─── 15:19 Thu, 19 Mar 2020
The South African Reserve Bank has cut interest rates by 100 basis points.
The repo rate is now 5.25% from 6.25%.
This is an attempt to help ease the burden on consumers.
SARB has been called to cut the interest rate aggressively.
The media briefing will take place virtually, as per President Cyril Ramaphosa's announcement to limit public engagements in order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
