SAA retrenchment bid back in court─── 08:39 Tue, 30 Jun 2020
A legal battle over retrenchments at South African Airways is back in the Labour Court on Tuesday.
In May, the court ruled in favour of two unions at the national carrier.
Numsa and the South African Cabin Crew Association wanted the retrenchment process halted.
They argued that no business rescue plan was in place and that there wasn't proper consultation.
SAA's business rescue practitioners filed an appeal which will be heard today.
A business rescue plan was published earlier this month and shareholders urged the airline's employees to sign voluntary retrenchment packages.
